Kalonzo for President

Mr. Kalonzo Musyoka has already put out his request for the bid for the presidency, taking from the article got from Kenya Times
. with the declaration for the presidency Kalonzo has just opened added another problem to the possible ODM supports. Kalonzo has kept his presidential aspirations close to his chest, but with his admission of his intentions than we can start to review him as a viable person for the Presidency of Kenya.

The general concession on the ground is that he is a good guy, but he has an impediment to his election, ie Raila Odinga. Kalonzo would have to show that he has support from the Kin maker himself to be ale to carry support across the country. This is going to be a problem for kalonzo, Raila is hell bound on becoming president this time around, so no endorsing anyone.
Hypothetically if Kalonzo wins the LDP elections that are currently being done, we will see a major fall out from the OEM support base, as Raila and company will bail from the party. Mr Kalonzo will have to create some uncommon bedfellows to be able to pull of a presidential election.

That is why we see Kalonzo slowly or silently courting the KANU camp, he will need the extensive grass root base that KANU boosts, so as to be able to get the elections.
Now if he decides to move to KANU he will have to put up with the LDP faction, with LDP weakened by the break up from the NARC and NAK Kenya being the central Kenya, he will have to align with someone who will pull votes from across the board.

So what will Moi do, Moi has been doing what he does best, he has been working areas that do not have a predetermined voting block, we see his travels to the north eastern province and the central rift, he is trying to energize the grass roots and whoever he says we vote we shall vote. Now will Moi, support Kalonzo’s bid for the presidency I think not, not after the fall out during the last elections.
If kalanzo dicides to run for election it will have to be on a KANU ticket for he is not winning the LDP ticket, the problem with this is that there is Moi, and Uhuru. Ruto does look like he does not qualify as barer of blind ambition, so he would support the election bid of kalonzo,

Kalonzo best bet for the presidency will be to give a run in the next elections, forget about the 2007 elections. He is still a young guy with the next election he will be less than 60, in Kenyan politics bado chipukizi.
