Kalonzo for President

Mr. Kalonzo Musyoka has already put out his request for the bid for the presidency, taking from the article got from Kenya Times . with the declaration for the presidency Kalonzo has just opened added another problem to the possible ODM supports. Kalonzo has kept his presidential aspirations close to his chest, but with his admission of his intentions than we can start to review him as a viable person for the Presidency of Kenya. The general concession on the ground is that he is a good guy, but he has an impediment to his election, ie Raila Odinga. Kalonzo would have to show that he has support from the Kin maker himself to be ale to carry support across the country. This is going to be a problem for kalonzo, Raila is hell bound on becoming president this time around, so no endorsing anyone. Hypothetically if Kalonzo wins the LDP elections that are currently being done, we will see a major fall out from the OEM support base, as Raila and company will bail from the party. Mr Kalonzo w...

Youthful leaders? Give me a break

Youth and the youthful are raising up and fighting for their change in the global arena, I was deeply troubled by the article that appeared in The Standard about the KTN show that depicted youths as a bunch of ‘emotional” , unfocused characters who do not know what they want. The writer of the article is wrong for equating of the young people who want to start to take their future in the hands to tribalists. There is a big difference between someone who incites other tribes against others. The young leaders who are asking the youth to realize their importance in the future in Kenya are not doing this for egocentric purposes and I do not think it is about the pay either. We have seen the success in France where the youth were about to marginalized by a law that would see them being fired easier than their more mature colleagues. When the youth banded together and raised one voice about their qualms with the law, the Prime Minster and president of France had to renege on a the law that h...

Leader vs. Politician

Politicians, are in my opinion the biggest and greatest actors of the world forget akina Tom Cruise and the likes, this guys have a knack of lying to your face and making you believe the hype, rhetoric and all that constitutes politics. That is the politician in everyone’s eyes. Now imagine if we had a politician who stood in front of everyone and said what he or she meant and did what he or she said, utopia right, wrong. The standard of the average Kenyan expectation of the politician is as above, we always have people who we think would make good politicians, but in the back of our mind we are thinking huyu atakula tuu. As a potential opinion maker for our generation I’m passing a request to all you aspiring politicians how about giving Kenyans a good deal, why can’t we expect you to make a change, create the new perspective of the politician, instead of using the word politician why not use the word leader instead. This is also a challenge to the average mwanainchi, why should we no...

Rosie picture for Africa?, No i Say

In defense of 'The Constant Gardener from the onslaught of John Kariuki 's article I would like to refute some points that Mr. John Kariuki pointed out in the said article. The author quotes Charlie Simpson of Film Studios on his assault of the movie, Is this some one who understands the reality of Kenya, the person who has his studios nestled in the heart of Jamhuri Park with no links to the real Kibera, someone who is not in a position to tell us what is really going on in the kibera slums. What was over done Mr. Simpson, that question is also directed to you Mr. Kariuki, did you see anything overdone, Are the kibera slums some cinema trick that we are not aware of? Are the stagnant pools of water the same trick cleverly achieved by technology? No, these are the realities of Kibera. The point of insecurity up north is also as real as it could be, as much as you would like the movies made that reflect the Africans as writers or intellectuals or the mention of school going chi...
